ZERO WASTE CAMPAIGN AT TAMAN BUNGKUL

Did you go to Taman Bungkul last sunday ( 26th April 2009) ?
Hundreds of people did. We did too. It was really good. It was to celebrate Earth Day. The fun was for people who are concerned about the world we live in, and who wanted to have a nice time together.

They brought plastic bags with them and we exchanged them for zero waste bags. The plastic bags we took are going to be recycled and made into something useful again. They were also given saplings to plant by Ecoton, the ecology NGO, to help make surabaya a better place to live in.

HAPPY EASTER DAY !!!

BUT, DO WE KNOW, WHERE THE EASTER EGGS COME FROM?????

Easter, was in fact an ancient Spring festival which was taken over by Christians to celebrate Christ's death and ressurection. Eggs (and bunnies) are symbols of the new life that comes after winter.

Eggs are used in different ways. They can be painted and then hidden for children to find or roled down a hill. Nowadays the most popular tradition is to make them out of chocolate and eat them!

The purpose of all this is to include one and all in Easter celebrations and to spread happiness and goodwill among everyone. After all, that is what Easter is all about. Anyway, Happy Easter, Everyone!!!!
